Dear Sisters and Brothers,
This month is a huge milestone for us; we are officially celebrating the 50th Anniversary of IBEW Local 1600! For five decades, this local has been all about solidarity, looking out for each other, and making sure we get the respect, safety, and fair pay we earn every single day. Fifty years ago, a group of workers decided to team up and fight for something better. Because of their grit and because all of you have kept that fire burning ever since, we’ve built a Union we can all be proud of. This golden anniversary belongs to our field crews out in the elements, our folks keeping the plants running, our incredible office and tech staff, our dedicated borough workers and the retirees who paved the way. You are the backbone of our local communities, handling everything from keeping the water flowing and the streets safe to maintaining the vital public services our neighbors rely on every single day. Your hard work and dedication are what makes Local 1600 great. While the energy and municipal industries keep changing, our core mission never will. We’re going to keep standing tall, protecting our rights, and training the next generation to carry the torch. Thanks for everything you do, for looking out for your Sisters and Brothers on the job, and for making this Union strong. Cheers to 50 great years, and to many more great years to come! IBEW Local Union 1600 Elections 2026
The ballots will be counted beginning at 10:00 a.m. on November 2, 2026. Ballots received after 12:00 p.m. on November 2, 2026, will not be counted. In the event a runoff election is required, the same shall be held on November 23, 2026.
