PPL CHANGES MANAGEMENT HOLIDAYS
PPL announced that management will add Martin Luther King Jr. Day to their paid holidays and convert Good Friday to a floating holiday. The same changes were offered to Local 1600. Our Union supports diversity, equity, inclusion and personal values and we were willing to accept Martin Luther King Jr. Day as an additional holiday. We could not agree to give up Good Friday as it is a negotiated holiday recognized in our current Labor Agreement that was ratified by the Bargaining Unit. The company is not willing to change their position and add Martin Luther King Jr Day while leaving Good Friday as is, therefore an agreement was not reached.
