Sorry the delay of updates. Been a bit of activity lately. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather that has finally started to let up!!
We were able to finally get a contract finalized for our folks at Safe Harbor to vote on. This was a challenging new experience for me, as I had never been part of creating a brand-new CBA from scratch. There were some good improvements and changes that the members wanted to make it a better work environment. Now it’s up to the individuals to make their decisions if its what’s right for them once it gets out for a vote. The summary of agreement should be out to all to review. Great job by the team for the long, drawn-out process.
Holtwood has been running smoothly with no issues to report.
Talen has outages at almost all locations. Please everyone stay vigilant and safe while all this activity is ongoing. Hopefully everything will be ready for the summer run ahead!
In the Talen world we are working on numerous things. Are currently in the process of finally getting a Training committee established for fossil. This has been a topic that has been worked on for the last few years and should now be coming to reality. Please let your local Chiefs and Stewards know if there are any training topics that you would like to see as we develop the program. Along with this will be some changes to hopefully start bringing our maintenance back in house. Let’s hope that we will see some positive results!!
We still have some grievances out of Montour on hold from the change of shift issues. I will try to update everyone once we get with the company on where that is all at.
Brunner has had a few grievances ongoing with some minor issues. The one to note is regarding the new parental leave policy over a holiday. Once we receive a resolution we will communicate how that looks going forward.
