I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving as we move into the Christmas Season. Decorating, shopping, making travel plans and deciding on your visiting schedule is always part of the Holiday play book. Don’t forget to get the car ready, check tires, wiper blades, lights and all the fluids, nothing is worse than running out of washer fluid during a wintry mix. Safe travels!
Discussions were held with companies regarding the Covid-19 vaccine mandate. There will be no action at this time due to the U.S. Court of Appeals granting a motion to stay OSHA’s Covid-19 Vaccination and Testing emergency Temporary Standard ordering OSHA takes NO steps to implement or enforce the ETS until further court order.
PPL still has employees/members working from home and wants to continue that practice. I support the work from home concept, it has value to both parties. We are continuing our effort to get language in a Memorandum of Agreement, we have a draft in the review process at this time.
The PPL contract negotiations are set, January 27, 2022 the parties will meet at Bear Creek Resort. Opening comments will take place and proposals will be exchanged. All questions and clarifications will be addressed at this time and the session will end until the week of February 14th. The parties have that Monday to Friday to reach a tentative agreement.
