Outage for Susquehanna is almost complete, and with the effects that the coronavirus added to the many rigorous tasks that the members of IBEW Local 1600 needed to perform.  A well-deserved congratulations is in order. Not only do the members take pride in the work they do, they also take pride in the way they support their station when the need arises. The sacrifices our members make to ensure that the plant completes its outage and the operating unit is maintained in a safe and efficient manor do not go unnoticed and in the face of the risks that were brought on by the potential exposure of the novel-coronavirus ( COVID- 19 ) our Brothers and sisters showed their true determination to make our station a beacon to be followed throughout the industry.

Our brother and sisters at Martins Creek and Lower Mount Bethel power plants also deserve a well-earned congratulations, as they went to work to ensure that when the plant was needed it was ready to run.

While the front-line Heath Care Workers can’t be thanked enough, all the members of IBEW Local 1600. who’s continued dedication made this time in our history go as smooth as it possibly could have gone, given the issues facing us…

Follow ups:

1.We will be scheduling grievance meetings that have been on hold pending current restrictions as soon as possible.

2.Arbitration requests are being pushed as aggressively as possible and once dates are scheduled I will put that information out to the members.

3.We will continue to monitor the Pa health Dept. guidance on issues affecting the need for scheduling of shifts and social distancing.

In times like these it is most important that we support each other in any way that we can. When we stand together is when we are at our best.

In solidarity,

Ron Webb
