Hello Sisters and Brothers:
As things are starting to open up in Pennsylvania it’s a great feeling knowing we are moving in the right direction with regards to Covid-19. All our Union workers have done an outstanding job and continue to do so under extreme circumstances. We always rise to the challenge whether it is a storm, power plant outage, a renovation project, a high billing period, cuts, reconnects, units tripping, tube failures, immediate material demands, and national emergencies such as Covid-19!
I am proud to be the President of one of the finest Local Unions in the country, there isn’t anything we can’t do in a safe, efficient manner with top shelf quality! Thank you all for providing your service under extreme conditions. Stay focused on safety and continue to follow all the rules and recommendations regarding Covid-19 and we will come out of this smarter and stronger. Meanwhile, at Local 1600, we are exercising social distancing, hand sanitizing and wearing masks. The office is open with limited staff each day; however, every business rep. is available via cell phones and email. We are working on how to hold arbitrations, my preference is face to face, but if that’s not possible we may be utilizing technology and hosting virtual arbitrations over the web, either way we must hear our cases. Hopefully, unit meetings can be started back up soon.
