Hello Sisters and Brothers of IBEW Local 1600. I want to welcome Ryan Harris to our staff as a Business Representative. He will be working hand in hand with VP John “Rusty” Clausius on PPL EU issues eventually taking over all those duties. Ryan is a PPL Field Meter Tech, he also served as a Union Steward and Unit 1600-7 Chairman. With Ryan’s experience and work ethic he will be a great representative for our members. Welcome aboard Brother Harris!
While Montour is phasing out coal due to the gas conversion a Voluntary Retirement Program is being offered to selected positions at the plant. After the retirement packages are complete the intent for the remainder of identified excess positions is to negotiate with the company to keep folks gainfully employed. If for some reason negotiations cannot reach an agreement then Article X will be followed per the CBA.
A Big Thank You to all our folks that keep our plants operating through these cold temps and our Lineman for their dedication and sacrifices during these recent storms!
