PPL
Meetings with PPL Customer Service management continues with discussions on how to improve the working environment for our Members and a better customer experience. Our Members have seen improvements based on our discussions at these meetings. Great job to all our Members involved in these discussions, together we are making a difference!

We had a meeting with upper management and HR to discussed the feedback we are receiving from our Field personnel around safety, working conditions, storms and work life balance. We are currently working on getting meetings scheduled for our Field personnel similar to our meetings with Customer Service management. I am hopeful with these meetings we will improve the concerns of our Members just like we did with Customer Service.

We had discussions with the Company on concerns our Field personnel are confronted with during regular work and storms. The following are just some of the issues we discussed.
•Closing for test when guys are on their way to a job.
•URD, split and close for test.
•Multiple crews dispatched to the same job.
•Crews working on the same circuit and not knowing another crew is there.
•Crewing for regular work and storms.
Our last BUSA meeting we discussed some of the concerns above. Please share any concerns you may have in regard to the list above with our BUSA when they are in your areas.

Advance Act of 2023

I attended the signing of the Advance Act of 2023 at The White House. This legislation will help facilitate the development and deployment of next-generation nuclear energy technology by giving the Nuclear Regulatory Commission the authority to review new nuclear technologies’ efficiency while advancing safety and promoting the creation of good nuclear power jobs. I also attended a meeting at The White House with Ali Zaidi, The White House National Climate Advisor. We discussed the Advance Act of 2023 and the impact on the workforce nationwide and the need for utility companies to hire due to the shortage of manpower.

Take care and stay safe,
