Hello Sisters and Brothers,
Talen CBA Extension – We had a discussion with the Company about the timeline for negotiations and starting before the Nuke outage. During our discussions the Company was not interested in starting negotiations till after the outage. The Company asked about an extension agreement and provided us a proposal for an extension. After several discussions and proposal exchanges the Company gave us their best and final offer for an extension agreement. We reviewed the Company’s final offer with Staff and our Talen Chief Stewards before putting the Memorandum of Agreement (“MOA”) out for our Members to vote on. The ballots for the MOA will be counted on March 21st. This is your contract, please vote and let your voice be heard.

Legislative Update Meeting with PPL – One of our main discussions centered around Resource Adequacy. Resource Adequacy in the field of electric power is the ability of the electric grid to satisfy the end-user power demand at any time. The biggest concern regarding Resource Adequacy, is data centers, fueled by the growth of AI. The rapidly growing electricity demand from these facilities can potentially strain the power grid. We also discussed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Grant and staffing to meet the future demand for electricity.
Take care and stay safe,
Rusty
