Sisters and Brothers, we are receiving many calls at the local regarding the upcoming closure of the PPL General Office Complex. We reach out to the company on a regular basis asking to address the situation since we only met a few times months ago and only learned the basic information that there will be a move. Many workers are experiencing stress and anxiety over the unknown and it’s understandable. We want to get to the table and work towards a fair and smooth transition, we have the Article X Placement Process and experience in this situation that can lead to positive impacts with folks getting where they want to be BUT the parties need to meet! As information rolls out, we will keep you informed.
On the other hand, Talen has unexpectedly offered a one-time Voluntary Retirement Program for certain job titles at various fossil generating stations. Chief Stewards have a copy of the agreement its similar to the one from 2018 at our Susquehanna Nuclear Station.
